Purposes

The following purpose statement was adopted at the fall conference of the Ohio Bible Fellowship, October 18, 2013.

The Ohio Bible Fellowship exists to glorify God as a fellowship of local churches and individuals by working together to promote fellowship, advance the gospel, proclaim the whole counsel of God, further the separatist position, and warn of contemporary dangers.

  • A fellowship of local churches, a network or association of autonomous churches committed to stated doctrines and practices, voluntarily working together (1 Cor. 14:40; 2 Cor. 8:19; Rev. 1:4, 11)
  • Promoting fellowship for mutual edification (Rom. 15:26–27; 2 Cor. 1:7; 8:1–5, 23)
  • Advancing the gospel through Scriptural efforts (Matt. 28:19–20; Acts 1:8)
  • Proclaiming the whole counsel of God for biblical fervency and the knowledge of God (John 17:3; Acts 20:27; 2 Tim. 2:15; 4:2)
  • Furthering the separatist position for the protection of the Christian faith and the church (2 Cor. 6:14–7:1; 2 Thess. 3:6, 14; 2 John 10–11)
  • Warning of contemporary dangers so the church is informed, aware, and equipped to minister (Eph. 5:11; Titus 1:9; Jude 3)
